This monograph expounds aspects of law, organization. and methods of forensic medical activity, and describes practical forms of usage of its special knowledge in criminal proceedings. Legal fundamentals of forensic medical activity are set forth with regard to the latest changes of legislation and normative acts given as reference material in the appendix. Using specific examples the authors examine the means of improving the efficiency of the investigation of crimes against life and health by drawing a forensic medical examiner into the conduct of an investigative experiment, in verification of evidence, in interrogation, in obtaining samples for comparative research, and in exhumations. This work contains suggestions on organizing the interaction of the state forensic service with law enforcement units and other participants in court proceedings.
