Legitimacy of the "orange revolutions"

Russia is bound to cope with the unpredictable Ukraine for quite a while. The situation in other countries neighboring Russia is also full of uncertainty. The author deals with the question of the legitimacy of actions of both the authorities and various opposition forces. With his view as a man of law Mirzoev sees the experience of the "orange revolution" from a purely consequential perspective. When power is unable to defend its legitimacy, the crisis can be successfully managed from abroad. Instrumental to that were the NGOs, parliamentary decisions and direct falsifications that involved active participation from the European international observers. Particularly interesting is the analysis of the actions on behalf of the Ukraine`s Supreme Court which bears full responsibility for the victory of the "Orangists", which the author calls Pyrrhic.
