This is a posthumous collection of works of the historian and sociologist Aleksei Rostislavovich Markov (1967-2002). The main part of this book is his monograph about the Petrograd students of 1910-1920 as a special social group with its own values, ideological and communicative practices. Appendices include his articles on the evolution of education in Russia, "politics of the body" and the history of sexuality in Russia at the end of the 19th - the first third of the 20th centuries.
