Naum Korzhavin (Mandel`, b. 1925) started to publish his poetry in 1941. His arrest in 1947 sped up his development as a personality and poet. Korzhavin was allowed to return to Moscow in 1954 where he became close to many Russian poets of his generation. Korzhavin was forced to emigrate in 1973. He is the author of several books of poetry and many articles about literature. These are his memoirs about his own life and Russian poets.
