This is a book of memoirs of one of the most original poets of the military generation, Boris Slutskii (1919-1986). His notes about the war are very personal: he fought from the first day of the war to the last. These memoirs were written without any hope of publication, and therefore he did not embroider himself or his life and was honest and deep. Slutskii`s prose is shiny and laconic.
