"Tuneiadets" (person with no employment) was not a social status but rather a type of criminal behavior in the soviet Russia. The Russian poet Joseph Brodsky (1940-1996), a future Nobel laureate, was charged with this crime and sent to exile in 1963. This book is a collection of letters and memoirs about Brodsky by a friend of his youth, Igor` Efimov (b. 1937), a Russian writer, philosopher, historian, and publisher, who has lived in the USA since 1978.
