Deconstruction and classical Russian literature

From Rhetoric of the text to rhetoric of history

On the example of four Russian writers, Leo Tolstoi, Anton Chekhov, Ivan Bunin, and Vladimir Nabokov, the author describes the mechanism of construction of the history of Russian literature of the 19th-20th centuries. This study is a series of comparative deconstruction analyses of works of these writers in the context of the corresponding research paradigm. At the end, the author offers several essentially new interpretations of classic works and new a approach to the history of literature accommodating the post-structuralist critics of historiography.
