This book is the first in a series of textbooks for Sunday schools. The first book, Bukvy, introduces Cyrillic letters, both uppercase and lowercase, accented to Old Russian manuscripts. Each letter is presented in several versions and with pages for copying. The next books will be: Chisla, Pis`mena, Slovesa, Glagoly Bozhii. These five books taken together may help with learning Slavic graphics and orthography, from simple to complex, and prepare students for reading sacred texts.
