This is a collection of works on historical geography by the famous Russian scholar Vasilii Bartol`d (1869-1930). These works, written at the beginning of the 20th century, are about Central Asia, and practically became the basis for regional studies of this part of the world. The book consists of three large works: Information of the Aral Sea...; On the History of Irrigation in Turkestan; Articles for the Encyclopedia of Islam (pp. 313-576). Also included are Bartol`d`s reviews and critical essays on scientific works of his colleagues around the world. This book is a reprint of the third volume of V. Bartol`d`s collected works (1965).
